Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror (1922) by F.W. Murnau is a terrific horror movie and classic of the silent film era
that is based on Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. An unsettling film (especially for the times in which it was made), it is a
faithful adaptation of Stoker's story, and brings images to the screen, the likes of which at the time had never been seen
before. Moreover, there is an innate sense of the sinister about it that is timeless.

Man of Aran (1934) is a fictional documentary film by Robert J. Flaherty
portraying the life on the Aran Islands off the western coast of Ireland.
It portrays characters who live in premodern conditions and their hardships,
documenting their daily routines such as fishing off high cliffs, farming potatoes
on the almost barren soil, and hunting for huge basking sharks to win their liver oil for lamps.
