George Orwell wrote in 1984,
‘Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.’, yet in my opinion he could have wrote this today. It is a perfect epitome for a timeless prophecy.

means reality control. It means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. One intellectually knows in which directions his memories must be altered so to coincide with the rulers' believes; he therefore knows and is playing tricks with reality; but by the exercise of doublethink he also satisfies himself that reality is not violated. This leads to a constant alteration of the past, according to the rulers' actual requirements of remaining in power.
woah, 1984 thrills me, yet at the same time also worries me.
