Today at 7pm EST NASA will broadcast the Beatles "Across the Universe"
to the North Star which marks the US space agency's 50th anniversary. In astronomical terms, it won't be long: In the year 2439, residents of the Polaris star system, if there are any, will have the 'invaluable' pleasure to a transmission of The Fab Four's 1968 song. Now this is a dramatic peace of news and a tremendous contribution to intergalactic communication. There's almost no doubt that the Polaris guys will love this transmission making the NASA think about launching a universal music lover series, maybe the Stones' "2000 light years from home" will be next?
